The Pi Eta Chapter of
Sigma Theta Tau International was chartered in March, 2000. There is a total of
469 chapters in STTI made up of over 405,000 members who live in more than 114
different countries.
This prestigious
organization provides many exciting opportunities for nurses around the globe.
With more than 130,000 active members in the United
States
, Sigma Theta Tau International is the
second largest nursing organization in the world. Members support the goals of
scholarship, leadership and nursing research.
Students are invited
into the honor society based on academic achievement and academic integrity.
Undergraduate
students seeking membership must rank in the top 35% of their
class and have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
Graduate students seeking membership must have a minimum GPA of
3.5.
Membership is by
invitation to undergraduate and graduate students, graduating students, and
professional nurses who have demonstrated superior scholastic, leadership, and
nursing achievements. All nursing students are invited to attend educational
programs and activities sponsored by the honor society.
