Ordering Software for the Labs

Faculty with classes in the labs are responsible to check that the software they need is installed with enough time to follow these instructions.

1. Only software licensed to Graceland University may be installed on lab computers. Software that is licensed to specific individuals (including software bundled with textbooks) is not licensed for use on lab computers and will not be installed without the specific approval of the software vendor.
2. Please research the hardware and operating system requirements with the software publisher prior to selecting software. If you are ever uncertain about the hardware in the labs, email TechSupport at TechSupport@graceland.edu .
3. You should place orders for lab software at least four weeks ahead of time using the Equipment Request form in My Graceland. Your department is expected to provide the budget, if there is a cost associated with the software. Please indicate the date your class starts in the Special Instructions field.
4. Because lab computers are replaced or repaired regularly, if you have special software that you requested in the past for a class you are preparing to teach, please contact Sean Putnam sputnam1@graceland.edu who can insure it is installed on every computer.

Can I bring my outside group to a lab?

Yes. All Graceland computers accept the username of guguest with the password Welcome1 (with a capital W and the number one). You will need to schedule the room using VEMS to make sure it is available.

What software can I have set up for my group?
We don't set up any software in the labs for visiting groups.

Can my outside group print?
Not without special arrangements. No group can print without an account associated to it. We will set up an account only if requested. At that point you must be willing to pay for all printing done against the account. Please give no less than 2 days notice for this.

Can my outside group use Adobe Creative Cloud?
No. Our licenses only allows students, faculty and employees to use Creative Cloud in our labs.
