About MoxieManager

On Tuesday October 27th we installed an update to My Graceland that changes the way you upload files. You’ll see the Moxie Manager window anytime you add files. This adds a few extra steps to uploading a file, but it greatly simplifies adding the same file to multiple pages. You can also now upload any file type, and have a more friendly interface for managing your files (a great plus for Faculty!).

Uploading a file

If you want to add a file from your computer, click on the “Upload” button and then select “Local Machine.”

Select your file from you computer and it will upload Showing the file and a progress bar.

Didn't see the file show up?

There is a known issue with older versions of Safari that will prevent MoxieManager from working.

  • On a PC, update Safari.
  • On a Mac, the version of Safari you can have is dependent on the version of Mac OS X you have.
    • Update Mac OS X
    • -Or- Use Firefox or Chrome

Inserting a File

When you want to add a file to a page check the box by the file you want to add (usually the one you just uploaded) and click Insert.

It should now show the name of the file

Didn't see the file name show up after the Insert?

There is a known issue with Inserting a File and IE

  • In some places when you insert a file you will not see the file name next to the upload button.
  • It has likely uploaded, save what you are doing and come back and you should see the file listed.
  • -Or- Use another browser like Firefox or Chrome

About Images

This is important information about how MoxieManager and My Graceland handle images inserted into features.

Note: This does not affect loading files to Handouts, or Assignments. It does affect usage in Blogs, External Contact, Comments, etc.

When you insert an image into a feature using the Insert Image or Insert File button, it provides a direct link to your content.

You can tell this because the URL will have "moxiemanager" in it.

  • Your image will break (no longer be visible) if you:
    • Delete the file from MoxieManager
    • Rename the file in MoxieManager
    • Rename the folder that contains the file in MoxieManager
    • Move the file to another folder in MoxieManager
  • Your image will change if you:
    • Upload a an image file with the same name to MoxieManager and choose Overwrite
